HGS’ first pop-up — DUNK! The Science of Basketball® (DUNK!), was held in the Spring of 2018. DUNK! explored the physics, mathematics and biology involved in basketball – it asked the question “does size make a difference?” The Stretch and Jump exhibit taught visitors about hang time, both here on Earth and on other planets.

Over 600 visitors, 82% under the age of 18, attended the DUNK! exhibition.
Over 50% of the high school students indicated attending felt that DUNK! increased their interest in learning more about the STEM fields.
DUNK! The Science of Basketball® is now available as an interactive video that includes a visit to the Harlem Gallery of Science’s Hall of Fame.
